Recreation

a.  Tree climbing and Canopy Walks

This can be a very rewarding and fun way to spend a day and it does not have to involve tree surgery.  It can just represent a challenge

One can also have a go on a course where you walk over rope bridges, slide down zip slides, fly on tarzan swings and have fun seeing the world from the trees on canopy walks.

f.  Survival Courses in British Woodland

g.  Cross-country skiing

h.  Chainsaw Carving

Chainsaw carving is a real art and the same principles of health and safety should be followed as in tree surgery.

If the piece of wood is to remain outside it is important to select a hard weathering piece of wood to carve from.(like oak)

One should also be aware of the kick back from chainsaws when using the end tip of the bar.

Once one has completed a sculpture it is possible to get  better finish from an Abortech angle grinder and sanding pads.

To finish up - Teak oil, bees wax or Danish oil is a nice finish.

i.  Hunting

g.  Furniture making and wood turning

k. Eco-building using timber native timber
