Stirlingshire is a beautiful county with fertile soils down the caste. There are many impressive, old estates running down this Caste which have equally impressive trees. For tree lovers - interesting trees can be found at the private estates of Touch House, Gargunnock, Meiklewood House - some lovely oaks with impressive burrs, Broich House which has an unbelievable Ewe tree. There are some old yews on the island where Mary Queen of Scots was held captive in the Lake of Monteith, Airthrie Castle, Stirling, Doune Castle, Dunblane and check out the conifers by the Motor Museum and Keir House, Dunblane.
