Bedfordshire

Bedfordshire Bedfordshire is situated North of London and has something for everyone , not just tree lovers! There is a nature reserve (at Sandy) run by the RSPB for twitchers, vintage vehicles at Stondon Museum, Whipsnade zoo, the spectacular Woburn Abbey and Safari Park, Gardens and follies at Wrest Park and lvoely countryside and pretty limestone villages. For tree lovers - The place that really sticks out is Woburn Park and Abbey - in the abbey gardens and deer park there are some fantastic species of tree with evergreens planted in the mid C18th and woodland that covers 3,500 acres. If you fancy a pint, try the Swan pub near Bromham for an impressive oak or if you need to stay in a hotel check out Flitwick Manor. Old oaks, ash and field maple can be found at Luton Hoo, Luton. If golf is more your thing why not combine it and impressive veteran trees at Stockwood Country Park, Farley Hill, Luton. Other places worth a look are - the Whipsnade Tree Cathedral which was planted after WW1 in the form of a medieval cathedral and it covers 9.5 acres, Pertenhall Old Rectory, Swiss Garden(Biggleswade), and Toddington Manor (Toddington)
